The only ‘All Through Teaching School’ within the heart of Sylhet and the whole of Bangladesh.
We are an Independent School and College like no other, offering the Cambridge and Edexcel Curriculum side by side. We have an Early Years Centre, Primary school and Secondary school with a Sixth Form.
Learn Together, Achieve Together, Succeed Together
Our Mission
Welcome to the only Teaching School in Sylhet that offers the International Cambridge and Edexcel Curriculum side by side, Springfield Academy. We are extremely proud to provide the foundations of our young people’s journey through their education and personal growth within this outstanding all-through school.
The school motto, ‘Learning Together, Achieving Together, Succeeding Together ’, underpins everything that we do. Early friendships start here, ensuring the children feel happy, safe and secure. The excellent relationships built from the very beginning enable them to confidently face new challenges, take risks and solve problems with a growing resilience.
Springfield Academy’s relentless pursuit of excellence is reflected throughout our harmonious community of learners; not just our eager young children but also our staff who thrive on continual professional development, our parents with whom we work hard to work in partnership and our wider community, which offers a rich diversity of experience.
The Academy will intake children from November 2023. The school opens from 5th November 2023 from 8am. This is where learners will be happy, confident, well-mannered and well-behaved children who are keen to learn and to collaborate with others, from their peers to older students and their seniors. We endeavour to nurture them into becoming caring, responsible citizens of the future. We are a reflective school and listen carefully to children’s views to ensure their learning is not just relevant and engaging but makes effective links to allow deeper connections and more memorable thinking.
Our curriculum is under constant review, looking ahead to make changes as the local, national and global events challenge us to further prepare our children to become aspirational young people who thrive in their own community and beyond.
We feel passionately about the importance of reading for pleasure for both children and adults, which becomes clear as you walk around the school.
Reading independently, as well as hearing texts read aloud, is the gateway to broadening a child’s imagination, attitudes, behaviours and dreams.
The primary children will love it when the Sixth form Reading Champions meet with them to share and talk about books, providing excellent role models as well as charming companionship. In mathematics, we have a heavy focus on a deep understanding of number; we want children to share a love of maths and there is a buzz about learning number facts and achieving certificates for their ‘Times Tables Passports’.
By using mistakes as learning opportunities and encouraging deeper thinking, children learn to reason in different ways, developing their oracy skills in order to present and solve problems across the curriculum.
Our drive to develop learners who have the ambition to be able do more and know more in order to achieve more is already developing independent, interested learners who enjoy taking a pride in their work, for example, to ‘wear the crown’ for presentation.
